The Astron Project: Problem Defined

Define the Problem

The Astron Project is designed to address problems arisen from human space exploration and space ownership.

Firstly, space exploration is carried out and tightly controlled by a handful of central government due to, among other reasons, the fact that space exploration is a resource-consuming activity that prevents individuals from entering the arena easily.

Secondly, who owns the space as human reaches further and further beyond the proximity of planet earth? Should a human-habitable exoplanet be owned by whichever country that successfully sets foot on its soil?

Answers to those questions may go beyond what has been traditionally known as common sense, as the questions and answers both relate to the very existence of humanity at a scale (both time scale and space scale) beyond normal human lifetime and beyond properties of planet earth.

Formal definition of problems:

Human space exploration remains highly centralized, tightly controlled by a handful of powerful central governments, while space exploration should affect entirety of humanity as opposed to a select group of people or governments.

Decentralised Consensus

Space ownership questions should be answered by a collective consensus of the entirety of human kind, as opposed to a select group of people or governments.

Space exploration is a resource-consuming and challenging activity that should be optimised with collective wisdom of human kind, as opposed to being controlled by a few powerful governments which may very well have conflicts of interest, i.e., various national interests. Survival beyond planet earth should not remain a sub-optimal practice as the way it is presently constructed.

Economy in Space

Economic system beyond planet earth should not be an extension of current global economic economic system. In particular, global fiat currency system, again being highly centralised by a select group of governments, may not be the optimal solution beyond planet earth. The Project attempts to design an economic system with help of blockchain technologies that maximises consensus among entirety of human race while maintaining productivity and efficiency.
